Highland County Sheriff's Report

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of March 16-22, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 344 911 calls, answered 155 requests for service, dispatched 136 fire and EMS runs, took 23 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.
At 11:28 p.m. on March 16, an assault complaint was received from a residence on Maple Trail in Paint Township. Deputies responded to the scene and arrested Marcia Conley, 49, for one count of assault and one count of aggravated assault. She is currently being held at the Highland County Justice Center on a $2,500 bond.
On March 17 at 10:47 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a Robin Hood Drive residence to investigate a burglary. Entry was gained to the home after a back door was forcibly opened. An offense report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.
Deputies responded to an alarm drop at Whiteoak High School on March 17 at 11:59 p.m. An open door was found to the gymnasium, and the building was thoroughly searched. Nothing suspicious was found, and the open door was secured by a key holder.

A report of a vehicle stuck in a field on Turley Lane led to the arrest of two Greenfield men on the morning of March 18. A deputy sent to investigate the report arrested Tyler Trent, 26, and Brian Mick, 29, when the vehicle they were in turned out to be stolen. Both face several charges and are being held at the Highland County Justice Center awaiting their next court appearance.
At 1:53 a.m. on March 19, a female in East Monroe called 911 to report a domestic disturbance. Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Leesburg Police Department responded to the scene and spoke with both parties involved. The incident ended up being just a verbal argument, and the female decided to leave for the remainder of the evening.
A deputy was dispatched to Venetian Way early Sunday morning after several residents in the area complained of vehicle with a loud exhaust creating a disturbance in the neighborhood. It was determined the vehicle in question was stuck in mud and the owner was trying to remove it. They graciously decided to try again at a more reasonable hour, and no charges were necessary.
