Highland County Sheriff's Report

Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of March 14-20, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 305 911 calls, answered 151 requests for service, dispatched 101 fire and EMS runs, took 40 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1100 block of Ford Avenue in Madison Township at 9:52 p.m. on March 14 after the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of an intoxicated female causing a domestic disturbance. Officers from the Greenfield Police Department accompanied the deputy to the scene, where 20-year-old Brittney Hill was arrested for one count of underage consumption.

On March 15 at 4:17 p.m, a citizen on West Deadfall Road called the Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of a 16-foot flatbed trailer sometime between March 13 and the time of call. A deputy spoke with the complainant, and an offense report was taken. The incident remains under investigation.

A Lynchburg resident called the Sheriff’s Office at 3:33 a.m. on March 16 to report a suspicious vehicle parked on Glenavy Drive for 90 minutes, partially blocking the roadway. When a deputy arrived on scene, the vehicle was found to be running and occupied by an unconscious male driver. Joshua P. Terrell, 29, was arrested and charged with OVI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Several residents on Jan Lynn Lane and Timber Lane called the Sheriff’s Office around 11:30 p.m. on March 18 to report unknown suspects ringing their doorbells and running way. One of the callers saw what appeared to be a group of juveniles headed toward Woodland Drive. A deputy patrolled the area, but no suspects were located.
