Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Nov. 15-22, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 389 911 calls, answered 163 requests for service, dispatched 136 fire and EMS runs, took 17 offense reports and investigated seven traffic crashes.

On Nov. 17 at 5:05 p.m., a Barrett Mill Road resident called the Sheriff’s Office to report a break-in and theft of some lawn mowers. A deputy was dispatched to the scene, where a report was taken. This incident remains under investigation.

A 911 call was received on Nov. 17 at 9:15 p.m. reporting a domestic violence incident between a father and son at a residence on Butters Road in Brush Creek Township. Deputies responded to the scene, where both males were detained and questioned. Consequently, both were arrested on domestic violence charges and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.

A citizen on Highland Hills Drive called the Sheriff’s Office at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 21 to report an unknown person had thrown an object through his front window. A deputy responded and took a report. The incident remains under investigation.

A report of a suspicious vehicle with a loud exhaust driving around the neighborhood was reported by a Rainsboro resident on Nov. 22 at 12:42 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to patrol the area. No vehicle matching that description was located.

A resident of the Rocky Fork Lake area came to the Sheriff’s Office at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 to report the theft of a firearm from his residence. A deputy spoke to him, and a report was taken. This incident remains under investigation.
