Highland County Sheriff's Report
Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Nov. 2-8, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 403 911 calls, answered 155 requests for service, dispatched 113 fire and EMS runs, took 22 offense reports and investigated four traffic crashes.
A citizen on state Route 134 in Clay Township called the sheriff’s office at 12:12 a.m. on Nov. 2 after hearing a loud noise and his dogs barking outside his residence. A deputy responded and checked the premises. Everything was found to be secure.
The sheriff’s office received a tip at 4:12 p.m. on Nov. 4 that a female with an outstanding warrant was currently located at a residence on Hawk Road in Hamer Township. A deputy was dispatched to that location, where he located and arrested Destiny M. Watson, 23, on a warrant for telephone harassment.

On Nov. 6 at 10:25 p.m., a female called the sheriff’s office to report being threatened by a family member at their residence on Haggerty Road. The victim came to the Highland County Justice Center to speak with a deputy and file a report. Charges of domestic menacing were filed against the suspect, Jesse Wayne Howland, who was arrested and taken into custody a short time later.
A deputy was dispatched to a business on North Shore Drive at 11:07 p.m. on Nov. 7 after receiving a call of theft from the location. A report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.
Deputies responded to a 911 call of a domestic violence incident at a Davidson Road residence at 4:04 p.m. on Nov. 8. Calls were received from parties on both sides of the altercation between two females and a male. Once on scene, deputies arrested Terry Lee Johnson of Otway for two counts of domestic violence. He was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.
