Highland County Fair set for Aug. 30-Sept. 6
The Highland County Fair, set for Aug. 30-Sept. 6 at the Highland County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro, is gearing up for a wide variety of entertainers and other attractions that are sure to please the entire family.
On Sunday, Aug. 31, southern Ohio native Eric Huff will perform traditional country music.
Huff, who was born in Wilmington and raised in Highland, has performed both locally and across the country, according to his website, alloutcountry.com.
"Traditional country music roots are the core value to my music," Huff stated on his website. "I represent a more traditional country sound."
Huff's website compares his sound to that of "Joe Diffie, George Strait and Hank Williams Senior."
Huff will perform songs from his latest album, "American Boy," available now on iTunes.

The Taylors, a brother-sister Southern Gospel quartet, will perform Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
According to their website, thetaylorsmusic.com, the award-winning quartet "have had nine radio singles to chart in the Singing News Top 80 Gospel Chart, three singles in the Top 40 and two singles in the Top 20."
The Taylors' latest album, "Measure of Grace," was released in June.
Following The Taylors' show, gospel singer/songwriter Joseph Habedank will perform at 8 p.m.
According to Habedank's website (www.josephhabedank.com), he is "a multi award-winning and Dove Award nominated singer/songwriter" whose songs have been recorded by a number of Christian artists.
In addition to his songwriting, Habedank was a member of award-winning Southern Gospel group The Perrys for 10 years and is now a solo vocalist. Based in Nashville, Habedank released his album "Welcome Home" in July.
Wrapping up the entertainment for the fair will be "The Ultimate Elton John Experience," featuring Bennie and the Jets and Jeff Scott, on Friday, Sept. 5 at 8 p.m.
Elton John tribute artist Jeff Scott has been performing John's music for more than a decade, "in venues ranging from stadiums and arenas, theaters and nightclubs and to live television and radio broadcasts," according to a biography by K+M Productions.
Scott is the founder and leader of the Bennie and the Jets band.
In addition to music, there will be plenty of other evening entertainment. MX Motorcycle Races will take place Saturday, Aug. 30 starting at 6 p.m. A COTPC Truck Pull will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31.
The always popular Demolition Derby will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.
A tractor pull will be held at Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., with SuperStock, ProStock and Economy Modified Speed Pulls at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. Limited Light Pro Stock Class, Modified Tractor Speed and Modified and Open 2 and 4 Wheel Drive Truck Pulls will be held Saturday, Sept 6 at 6:30 p.m.
