Greenfield Historical Society hosts Oct. 10 Ghost Walk

Greenfield Historical Society will hold its annual Ghost Walk on Monday, Oct. 10, at the Old Burying Ground next to Travellers Rest on McArthur Way.
The walk will start promptly at 6 p.m. Feel free to bring a chair to sit and listen to the ghosts talk. The audience will have a short walk in the middle of the talks as the ghosts will appear in two different sections of the cemetery.
More than 20 Civil War soldiers are buried in the Old Burying Ground. This year we will honor several of them by presenting their lives. Included in these are George Brinley and Thomas Ghormley of the 81st Ohio Volunteer
Infantry, Zeph Bryan of the 27th OVI, William Doyle of the 168th OVI, and brothers Isaac and Joseph Eshelman of the 81st and James Eshelman of the 27th OVI.
Actors this year include Caleb Schluep, Eric Salyers, Danny Long and Adam Honnold. There are plans for one more actor, but this one is not confirmed yet.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. The Hot Dog Supper will begin at 5 p.m. and will include hot dogs, chips, drinks and deserts. We plan on having food available after the walk also. The meal will be a free will donation.
Come learn some Civil War history and information about Greenfield’s soldiers while enjoying a night in the quiet of the cemetery. It has become a well attended event and the Historical Society looks forward to having you as a part of this fun activity.[[In-content Ad]]
