Greenfield armed robbery suspect arrested; held on $1.5 million bond

On Saturday, Sept. 6 at 10:50 p.m., Greenfield police officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Subway restaurant, 414 Jefferson St., Greenfield.

Employees reported that a white male, wearing a black hoodie and a dust mask over his face entered the store near closing time and pointed a black semi-automatic pistol at them and demanded cash from the register.

 

 

The employees complied and the suspect fled the store on foot with just over $100 in cash.

Officers gathered evidence from the scene, and after conducting their investigation were able to identify the suspect as David R. Calhoun, 30, of Greenfield.

A warrant was issued for Calhoun's arrest, and on Sept. 10, Calhoun surrendered himself to police in Sabina.

Greenfield officers transported Calhoun back to the Greenfield jail where he was charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.

Highland County Court Judge Robert Judkins ordered Calhoun's bond set at $1.5 million.

He will be held in the Greenfield jail until his initial appearance in Highland County Court, Greenfield, on Friday, September 12 at 9 a.m.
