Former US Congressman Tim Ryan named to National Commission on AI and the Future of the American Workforce

Former U.S. Congressman Tim Ryan has been named one of 20 commissioners to the National Commission on AI and the Future of the American Workforce, a bipartisan initiative co-chaired by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

The Commission will examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping the American workforce and develop policy recommendations to help workers, businesses, and communities navigate the economic changes ahead.

“I’m honored to be invited to join this distinguished, bipartisan commission with my old friend from Congress, Speaker Paul Ryan, and Secretary Gina Raimondo. AI is proving to be one of the most challenging policy issues America and the world will have to deal with in the coming decades," Tim Ryan said. "Bipartisan solutions must be in place, so America has a predictable framework to harness all the benefits of AI to improve health, education, and economic growth for both businesses and workers. 

“As a Commissioner, I want to make sure workers, manufacturers, and communities have a real voice in this conversation as we develop policies that will shape the future of the American workforce.
