Fairfield, Bright Local 10th-graders score well on OGTs

Scores on the Ohio Graduation Test, which was administered to approximately 142,000 10th-grade students, improved statewide this year, according to preliminary data released by the Ohio Department of Education.
Students were tested in five subjects – reading, math, writing, science and social studies.
Approximately 86 percent of students in non-public chartered schools passed all five subjects.
Almost 70 percent of 10th-graders in Ohio's public schools passed all five subjects, up from a little less than 66 percent last year.
Bright Local Schools scored Highland County's only perfect score in the subject of writing, where 53 of 53 students tested achieved proficient or above grades.
Overall, students from Fairfield Local Schools and Bright Local Schools posted the highest marks among the five public schools in Highland County.
