Northern Kentucky attorney and WLW Radio talk show host Eric Deters is now a columnist for The Highland County Press.
Deters has been practicing law since 1987, after earning degrees in history and business administration from Thomas More College and a law
degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. He started his own law firm in 1998, and he’s licensed to practice law in Kentucky, Ohio and Florida.
His reputation as an attorney has been described as passionate, aggressive, reasonable, tenacious and hard working.
In his first Highland County Press column this week, Deters credits his work ethic to his upbringing on the farm.
“The Highland County Press extended an offer to Mr. Deters on Oct. 9 and he was kind enough to accept,” said HCP publisher Rory Ryan. “Given that we have two columnists who are Democratic Party Central Committee members and another who’s a Republican elected official, we thought the inclusion of an Independent columnist would bring yet another unique perspective to our readers.
“We appreciate Mr. Deters’ willingness to write for us.”
Deters, whose nickname is the “Bulldog,” also is the owner of Bulldog’s Roadhouse at Newport on the Levee.
“I am excited that Rory offered me the opportunity to write for this newspaper. I promise to not bore you,” Deters said. “I’ll write about what’s on my mind: politics, business, economy, law, life and entertainment – and I want you to know, I know where Highland County is!”
