Dutchman Hospitality Group, Inc. announces expansion in Holmes County
Dutchman Hospitality Group, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and the Holmes County Economic Development Council, this week announced a multi-million dollar investment to build a new corporate headquarters in Walnut Creek, Ohio, creating 10 new jobs.
“Dutchman Hospitality Group’s decision to build its new corporate headquarters in Holmes County reflects the company’s deep roots in the region and the continued success it has achieved there for more than half a century,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This investment positions the company for its next phase of growth while creating opportunities and jobs in the community for years to come.”
Dutchman is a family-owned company with restaurants, inns, and shops rooted in Amish traditions, along with food manufacturing facilities in Indiana and Tuscarawas County that support its regional hospitality operations. With 1,600 employees companywide, its corporate headquarters oversees hospitality and food manufacturing operations across Ohio, Indiana and Florida.
“What began in 1969 as a modest 75-seat restaurant has grown into a regional hospitality and food manufacturing company dedicated to sharing the rich traditions of our Midwestern Amish and Mennonite communities with those we serve. We are proud to call Walnut Creek and Eastern Ohio home, and we are grateful for the opportunity to provide our team members with an enhanced corporate headquarters that will better support our expanding operations across Ohio, Indiana and Florida.”
As part of a long-term reinvestment strategy into the village of Walnut Creek, the company is planning the construction of a new 10,000 square-foot corporate headquarters that will serve as the central hub for approximately 40 team members. The new facility will provide the capacity and infrastructure needed to support continued growth while anchoring future investment in Walnut Creek.
“The expansion of Dutchman Hospitality Group in Holmes County is a significant win for the region,” said Matt Abbott, OhioSE President and CEO. “Their growth underscores the advantages of doing business in eastern Ohio and highlights the impact of strategic investment and strong partnerships.”
This investment includes full sitework and utilities, building construction, and critical infrastructure and is supported by a $100,000 JobsOhio Grant, which promotes economic development, business expansion and job creation by funding eligible projects.
“We were thrilled to learn of Dutchman Hospitality Group’s planned investment in a new headquarters, said Mark Leininger, Executive Director of the Holmes County Economic Development Council. “We look forward to following progress as the new facility takes shape and wish the company many years of continued success in Walnut Creek as it pursues its long-term vision for the community.”
The Holmes County Economic Development Council was formed in 2004 by a group of community leaders to promote business investment in Holmes County. Since its formation, HCEDC has evolved and refined its offering of services, but its objective remains the same – to improve the quality of life for Holmes County citizens by supporting strategic business growth and investment to create living wage jobs.
