Dr. Khristopher Ballard joins staff of Dr. Williams and Dr. McConnaughey

Dr. Ralph E. Williams and Dr. Leah McConnaughey are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Khristopher Ballard to their office staff.

The optometry practice is located at 934 West Main St. in Hillsboro.

Khristopher Ballard, O.D., received his doctorate in optometry from The Ohio State University. During his optometric education, Dr. Ballard completed internships within The OSU College of Optometry, including pediatrics, low vision, ocular disease and contact lenses.

He gained further experience fitting contact lenses, including difficult fits on patients with irregular corneas such as those with keratoconus or who have had a corneal transplant, while working with corneal specialists at The Ohio State University Opthalmology's Havener Institute. He also completed externships at the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Eye Specialists, where he gained additional training in ocular disease and cataract management. Dr. Ballard is well-trained and knowledgeable on all of the latest treatments for glaucoma and contact lenses.

Dr. Ballard graduated from Valley View High School in Germantown, Ohio before beginning college at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, where he graduated with honors and earned an associate's of liberal arts and sciences. He then transferred to Wright State University, where he also graduated with honors and earned his bachelor's of science in clinical laboratory science.

After graduation, he worked for a year and a half as a medical technologist within the clinical lab at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Dr. Ballard then
earned his doctorate of optometry from The Ohio State University, where he also graduated cum laude. He was a four-year member of the American Optometric Student Association and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. During his studies, he was also president of the Sports Vision Club, where he organized vision
screenings of all varsity athletes at Wright State University and the University of Cincinnati. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.

In his leisure time, Dr. Ballard is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with his wife, Alison, and son, Vincent. Not only will Dr. Ballard practice in Hillsboro, but he has also recently moved to downtown Hillsboro during the last half of June.[[In-content Ad]]
