Conduct Board files attorney discipline recommendations

The Ohio Board of Professional Conduct recently filed four reports with the Supreme Court of Ohio, recommending discipline for each attorney.

Parties will have an opportunity to file objections to the Board’s reports and recommendations with the Supreme Court. If a party files objections, the Supreme Court will schedule the case for oral argument. Objections are not permitted in consent-to-discipline matters.

Delaware County

Disciplinary Counsel v. Eric Jordan Burkett (consent-to-discipline)
Supreme Court Case No. 2024-0850
Recommended sanction: Two-year suspension, stayed.

Franklin County

Disciplinary Counsel v. Vincent A. Dugan, Jr.
Supreme Court Case No. 2023-1095
Recommended sanction: One-year suspension, stayed.

Greene County

Disciplinary Counsel v. William Allen McClain
Supreme Court Case No. 2024-0848
Recommended sanction: Two-year suspension with credit for time served under interim felony suspension.

Lorain County

Lorain County Bar Association v. Stourton Scott Smith (consent-to-discipline)
Supreme Court Case No. 2024-0847
Recommendation: Public reprimand.
