The Highland County Board of Commissioners approved the following resolutions at the April 20 commission meeting.
• The acceptance of the bid of $883,058.35 from Cox Paving, Inc., Leesburg, for the Engineer's Widening & Paving C.R. 12-A, B, & C project (Concord Road) as outlined in the specifications provided by the Engineer's office.
• The acceptance of the bid of $10,791 from 2Sisterz Cleaning Service, New Vienna, for Janitorial Services at the Highland County Engineer's office as outlined in the specifications provided by the Engineer.
• The authorization of a modification to the Engineer's budget from Contracts-Projects to Contracts & Services for $30,000.
• The authorization of a modification to the General Fund, Commissioners, from Contracts & Services to Other Expense for $5,000.
• The authorization of a modification to the General Fund from Commissioners, Contracts & Services to Vital Statistics, Registration for $73.
• The authorization of the Highland County Sheriff to apply for and if awarded, enter into an agreement to administer a DARE grant through the office of the Attorney General for the school year period beginning August 2011 to June 2012.
• The authorization of a modification to the Soil & Water budget from Other Expense to Workers Comp. for $205.
• The authorization of additional appropriation to the Jail Diversion Budget from Unappropriated Funds to Personnel for $12,000 and from Unappropriated Funds to Program Expenses for $10,340.75.
• The authorization of a new fund to be known as Tobacco Foundation Grant - OSU S&W and appropriated Expense for $25,000.
• The authorization of additional appropriation to the General Fund, Sheriff, from Unappropriated Funds to Sheriff Employee Salaries for $1,074.11. The additional funds are from the Methamphetamine Initiative Grant.
• Commissioners received a petition from Virgil and Shirley Dolph and Douglas Adkins to vacate three alleys in Dodson Township, Highland County between Main Street in Allensburg (US Route 50) and Douglas Adkins' property located on State Route 13: one between Lot Nos. 56 and 57; one between Lot Nos. 58 and 59; and one between Lot Nos. 60 and 61. Commissioners and the Highland County Engineer viewed the alleys on April 20 at 10 a.m. and held a hearing at the Commissioners' Office at 11 a.m. The Board and all interested parties had an opportunity to be heard, and following the hearing, commissioners agreed that the above-mentioned alleys be vacated.
• Local Government Services Section of the Ohio State Auditor's Office (LGS) submitted a contract to provide audit services estimated at 185 hours and billed at $50 per hour. The total cost is not anticipated to exceed $9,250. Commissioners agreed to the terms of the contract.[[In-content Ad]]
