Chillicothe Police Department investigates reported threat at middle school

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Chillicothe Police Department conducted an investigation following an alleged threat made by a Chillicothe Middle School student against another student.

The threat allegedly involved a reference to the use of a firearm. It was determined that the student did not possess or bring a firearm to the school.

The juvenile allegedly responsible for the threat was charged with inducing panic and was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. During the course of the investigation, a firearm was allegedly located at the juvenile’s residence and seized by the Chillicothe Police Department.

The Chillicothe Police Department takes all threats seriously and strongly encourages guardians to discuss with their children the gravity of making threats and the legal consequences that may follow.
