A suspected Chinese spy allegedly slept with at least two U.S. Midwestern mayors and was close to California Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell in a yearslong intelligence campaign, Yahoo News (https://news.yahoo.com/suspected-chinese-spy-slept-least-130946174.html) and others are reporting.

"Fang Fang, also known as Christine Fang, embedded herself in California's Bay Area politics and slept with two Midwestern mayors as part of a yearslong Chinese intelligence campaign, according to an Axios investigation," Yahoo News reported today.

Fang Fang also fundraised for U.S. Reps. Eric Swalwell and Tulsi Gabbard, both of whom ran in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, Axios said, who added that Fang returned to China in mid-2015 amid an FBI investigation.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., slammed Swalwell today, arguing that the Democrat should no longer be able to serve on the House Intelligence Committee following reports that his office was allegedly targeted by a woman believed to be a Chinese spy.

McCarthy argued Swalwell, who took a leading role in Democrats’ impeachment efforts, is a “national security liability.”

“Rep. Swalwell has long been disqualified from serving on the Intel Committee. For years he peddled Russian disinformation for political gain. Now we find out he was involved in an effort by a reported spy to gather info for China. Swalwell is a national security liability,” he tweeted this week.

According to his congressional website, Swalwell received undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Maryland. In 2012, he was elected to represent California’s 15th Congressional District. He serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Judiciary Committee.
