Burwinkel and Frost crowned 2015 Highland County Junior Fair Queen and King

The 2015 Highland County Junior Fair Queen/King Contest was held Saturday, Sept. 5 in the Multi-Purpose Building at the Highland County Fairgrounds.
The seven candidates in this year’s event included: Caitlin Frazer of Whiteoak High School, Jacquelyn Marietta of Hillsboro High School, Emily Burwinkel of Hillsboro High School, Quinn Walker of Lynchburg-Clay High School, Lane Frost of Fairfield High School, Johnny Lewis of Lynchburg-Clay High School and Ryan Matthews of Fairfield High School.
Also in attendance to crown this year’s winners was the 2014 Highland County Junior Fair Queen, Kaylee Achor.
The judges for this year’s contest were Candis Lindsey of Fayette County, Katie Stapleton of Adams County and Kassady Raines of Brown County. They judged each candidate on poise and conduct, application and achievements, personal interview and oral presentation.
After a momentary deliberation, Emily Burwinkel was announced as the Highland County Junior Fair Queen and Lane Frost was named the first Highland County Junior Fair King.[[In-content Ad]]Emily Burwinkel is the daughter of Philip and Kati Burwinkel of Hillsboro. She attends Hillsboro High School and is representing the Highland County Jr. Leadership Club. Emily is active in her school, Jr. Fair Board, and her 4-H Club. Her hobbies include working with animals and being as involved as she can in things.
Lane Frost is the son of Dusty and Erin Frost of Leesburg. He attends Fairfield High School and is representing The Premier Showmen 4-H Club. Lane is a member of the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association and has won many awards through both school and FFA. His hobbies are, 4-H, FFA, and cross-country.
Johnny Lewis and Ryan Matthews were honored as the king attendants, while Caitlin Frazer, Jacquelyn Marietta and Quinn Walker were honored as the queen attendants.
