Batavia OSHP Post investigating serious injury crash involving a motorcycle

The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash involving two vehicles. The crash occurred July 6 at approximately 12:31 p.m. on state Route 32 near the intersection of Bauer Road in Batavia Township, Clermont County.

The preliminary investigation showed a Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, operated by Seth Wright, 21, of Batavia, was traveling eastbound on state Route 32 when his vehicle allegedly rear-ended an eastbound Toyota Matrix, operated by Madeline Purvis, 36, of Batavia. Following the impact with the Toyota, the motorcycle overturned in the median.

Wright sustained serious injuries and was transported by EMS to Clermont Mercy Hospital. He was later flown by University Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Purvis sustained no injuries from the crash.

Wright was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department and Central Joint Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
