Ashley Grazilla has been nominated for the 2015 Ohio Hospital Association's Albert E. Dyckes’ Healthcare Worker of the Year Award.

Grazilla is a clinical dietician and diabetes education coordinator. Serving as the diabetes education coordinator at Highland District Hospital, she leads the diabetes advisory board.

Grazilla educates her patients and peers on healthy eating habits and diabetes management. She implemented an oral nutritional supplement protocol for the hospital.

Grazilla exemplifies integrity within the hospital and the community. She often speaks at community diabetes support groups, health fairs, schools, senior centers, factories and local churches. She also conducts Diabetes Carbohydrate Counting Food Tours at the local Kroger.

Grazilla and the diabetes education staff organize an Diabetes Extravaganza event annually, which is attended by more than 200 people. She creates a complimentary cookbook for all of the event’s attendees, which includes recipes submitted by patients and staff.

Grazilla desire to grow and share her knowledge is a valuable asset to our community.
