A resurfacing project in Highland County will get under way as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation have set their schedule to begin work next week.

Crews from Miller-Mason will be resurfacing a section of state Route 73 at Hillsboro, between its junction with S.R. 247 and the city’s southern corporation limit, as well as a six mile section of S.R. 247, from the Highland-Adams County line to its junction with Township Road 233 (Shannon Lane). The contractors will also pave the entire length of S.R. 785, between S.R. 247 at Fairfax and S.R. 73 at Belfast.

Construction is set to begin Monday, September 19, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers when crews are at work on the various routes.

The Miller-Mason Company of Hillsboro was awarded a contract for approximately $1.2 million to pave a total of 10.6 miles on the three routes, and the scheduled completion date is October 31.
