Area communities enjoy 'ice bucket challenge'

The village of Frankfort called out Greenfield, Bainbridge, Bourneville and Kingston in the Ice Bucket Challenge to fight ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Members of Greenfield Village Council and the staff participated by taking the plunge just after the Greenfield Council meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Greenfield has extended the challenge to the villages of Leesburg and Lynchburg and the city of Hillsboro.
Participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge were Council Chair Betty Jackman, council members Bob Bergstrom, Brenda Losey and Chris Borreson, staff members Roberta Karnes, Bev Giffin and Holly Ellinger, and City Manager Ron Coffey.
"We are passing the hat and will make a contribution as well, but it was fun to participate, although we got really wet!" said City Manager Ron Coffey. "Thanks to the Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District for helping to shower us with the icy water, and to Joe’s Party Shop for the ice."
Wishing you luck in Leesburg, Lynchburg and Hillsboro!
Brenda Losey’s husband John got some video of the Ice Bucket Challenge that can be viewed on Facebook at the link below. If you can’t get it for some reason, search for Brenda Losey, Brenda Lester or Ron Coffey on Facebook and find it there.
