Adena Health System chooses Sybil Miller to oversee corporate communications
Sybil Miller joins Adena Health System as its new Director of Corporate Communications. In this position, she will oversee all corporate
communications for Adena and its 10-county service area, while building relationships on behalf of Adena throughout south-central Ohio.
Previously, Miller was Division Director of Communications for the Red Cross Biomedical Center in West Henrietta, NY, where she was responsible for
developing and managing communications among some 500 media outlets in New York and Pennsylvania.
“Sybil’s experience in government relations, marketing communications and public relations, her skill as a spokesperson and her familiarity with
healthcare issues will be a huge benefit to Adena,” said Elisabeth Williams, Adena’s chief strategy officer. Williams also oversees communications and
marketing departments for the health system.
“Her addition to our staff will help tremendously in Adena reaching its goal of being the best healthcare system in the nation,” Williams added.
Miller was born in Columbus, but spent most of her life in New York. She attended Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va. and Excelsior College in
Albany, N.Y. and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Among places she worked was Xerox Corporation in Rochester, N.Y., where she was senior marketing analyst in the global technical knowledge and language
services department.
At the Red Cross, Miller reported directly to the division vice president and chief executive officer and had comprehensive responsibility for the
strategic direction of all community efforts in an 84-county area.
She also received specialized training at Harvard University and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention in Atlanta.
