Achor crowned 2014 Highland County Junior Fair Queen

The 2014 Highland County Junior Fair Queen Contest was held Saturday, Aug. 30 in the Multi-Purpose Building.
The nine candidates in this year's event included: Natalie Stanley, Cheyanne Miller, Courtney Cummings, Madison Mick, Caitlin Frazier, Kylie Douglas, Tristen Collins, Kaitlin Meade and Kaylee Achor. They were escorted by Braden Puckett, Robbie Miller, Ryan Faulconer and Bricen Hess.
Also in attendance was the 2013 Junior Fair Queen and Junior Fair Board President, Tara Karnes.
Tara is a 2014 graduate of Greenfield McClain High School and is currently attending Wilmington College. She is majoring in biology and her future plans are to become a dentist.[[In-content Ad]]The judges for this year's contest were UC administrator Dr. Loxie Kistler, Lindsey Calhoun and Kassady Raines.
The candidates were judged on poise and conduct, application and achievement, personal interviews with the judges and oral presentation.
After a brief deliberation, Kaylee Achor was announced as this year's Highland County Junior Fair Queen. Courtney Cummings, Kylie Douglas, Cheyanne Miller and Natalie Stanley were honored as the attendants.
Kaylee is the daughter of Phillip and Ronna Achor of Hillsboro. She attends Hillsboro High School and is representing the Fab Five 4-H Club. Kaylee has been very successful with her market lamb projects over the years and is involved in her school. Her hobbies include playing soccer and volunteering at KAMP Dovetail during the summer.
