Gloria J. Case

Gloria J. Case, 84, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at St. Catherine’s Care Center, Washington C.H. 

She was born July 30, 1939 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Wales S. and Myrtle Jane Johnson Lowe. 

She was a 1958 graduate of Frankfort High School. She received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Ohio University and continued her education with extra hours of study at the College of Mount Saint Joseph. Gloria taught school at Frankfort Elementary and loved it.

Gloria attended Lattaville United Methodist Church until its closing. She then attended the South Salem United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the Women’s United Methodist Women. She loved helping with VBS and the children’s church. She was also a member of the Frankfort Garden Club.

On June 22, 1991, Gloria married Robert Case, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2007. 

Gloria is survived by a niece, Rebecca (Michael) Baker; one nephew, Scott (Theresa) Downs; great-nieces, Jacquie, Harley and Makenna Baker; a great-nephew, Michael A. Baker; a great-great-nephew, Jack Carter; and a few cousins and friends, Richard and Brenda LeMay. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Downs; and her brother, Charles Lowe. 

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort with the Rev. Terry Washburn officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Bob, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. In keeping with Gloria’s directions, calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
