Frieda Crum Redkey celebrates 100th birthday

July 8 was a special day for an amazing woman, Frieda Crum Redkey, as she celebrated her 100th birthday. 

The celebration was hosted by her son, Jim Redkey and his wife, Lee Redkey.

Frieda has been a long-time resident of Hillsboro for more than 60 years, participating in numerous clubs, organizations and a local church.

More than 65 people attended her celebration from Hillsboro, surrounding Ohio communities, her hometown Louisa, Ky., Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. 

Hillsboro Mayor Justin Harsha presented Frieda a proclamation from the City of Hillsboro for her 100th birthday.
