Frank W. Massey
Frank W. Massey, 78, of Dayton, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Frank was born July 13, 1945 in Greenfield, the son of the late Francis "Oscar" and Nona (née McComas) Massey.
Frank graduated from McClain High School class of 1965 and served in the U.S. Army. In Greenfield, he was introduced to Charlene Drummond, later marrying in August of 1968.
Soon after, Frank and Charlene moved to the Dayton area where Frank worked for DESI for several years. He then started his long career working at Wright-Patt AFB while continuing his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, eventually earning his master’s degree. He retired after 35 years of service at the base.
In his retirement, Frank could often be found at the Beavercreek Senior Center, where he was often in the pool or playing pool with the many friends he made there over the years. Above all else, Frank was a dedicated family man, always offering a helping hand, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Charlene Massey; daughters, Tonya Massey and Tara Massey; brother, Norman (Laura) Massey; nephews, David (Michelle) Massey and Mark (Tamara) Foster; niece, Julie (Bonny) Foster; and grand fur babies, Zona Ry, Gypsea Moon and Paisley May.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Stephanie Abshear.
