Sydney Cromer named Div. III SE District POY; teams selected
There were a total of 37 players selected to the 2014 All-Southeast District boys and girls postseason teams, as selected by the coaches of the SE District.
Lynchburg-Clay senior Sydney Cromer was selected as the 2014 Division III SE District Player of the Year for her 2014 season.
Making first team in Division II was Hillsboro senior forward/midfielder Trey Moberly. Also with first-team honors from McClain was junior Tommy Henry, who is a midfielder for the Tigers.
In Division III, named to the first-team was Fairfield senior midfielder Tom Ellison, along with Lynchburg-Clay junior forward Noah Scott and senior midfielder Alex Pinkerton.
For the girls voting, Highland County had two players earn Division II first-team honors in Hillsboro senior midfielder Trista Rhodes and McClain sophomore forward Taylor Polley.
The Division III first team consisted of Fairfield senior forward Kaitlin Evans, LC senior midfielder Keanna Oaks and LC senior midfielder Sydney Cromer.
Earning second-team honors in Division II were HHS senior keeper Maverick Ward and McClain senior defender Zack Harper.
For Division III, second-team honors went to Fairfield senior midfielder Paul Dean, followed by LC junior keeper Devin Pierson and junior defender Wesley Smith.
Second-team on the girls Division II All-District team were Hillsboro senior midfielder Kaylynn Bell and McClain sophomore defender Molly Rowe.

Division III second-team selections were FHS senior keeper Elizabeth Jones, FHS sophomore forward Carly Jones, LC junior defender Alexa Cochran and LC junior defender Ali Little.
Honorable mention in Division II were HHS junior defender D.J. Brown, HHS junior midfielder Kobe Curtis, MHS senior forward Tommy Free and MHS senior keeper Cameron Spangler.
In Division III, honorable mention went to FHS junior Trey Current, FHS senior midfielder Logan Bates, LC junior midfielder Brandon Storer and senior defender Jared McLaughlin.
Girls Division II honorable mention were Hillsboro sophomore defender Hope Tira, HHS junior defender Mallory Sluss, MHS senior defender Amber Sowders and McClain sophomore defender Shinoah Graham.
Honorable mention selections in the girls Division III of the SE District were FHS senior forward Kylie Allen, FHS senior defender Heather Sanderson, LC sophomore forward Hannah Binkley and LC sophomore forward McKayla Binkley.
The Division III Boys Assistant Coach of the Year was Kevin Walker of LC, and the Division III Coach of the Year was LC's Dennis West in girls soccer. The Assistant Coach of the Year in Division III girls soccer was Wendy Martin, also of Lynchburg-Clay.
The OSSCA team sportsmanship award went to the McClain Lady Tigers.
Earning the Ohio Scholastic Coaches Association Team Academic Award were Hillsboro and Lynchburg-Clay in boys soccer, and Hillsboro, Lynchburg-Clay and McClain in girls soccer.
The SE District Sportsmanship Award (no red cards all season) went to Fairfield, Hillsboro, Lynchburg-Clay and McClain in girls soccer. In boys soccer, the award also went to Fairfield, Hillsboro, Lynchburg-Clay and McClain.
