Spring sports season set to return

Baseball, softball, tennis and track & field take their turn in the spotlight after two very successful sporting seasons for the county where in both the fall and winter seasons teams reached the state level of competition. 

Last season, Highland County had two softball teams (Fairfield and Whiteoak) each reach the Division IV Regionals. There were also three racers who qualified for the Division II and Division III State Track meet in ’15.

For the beginning of the ’16 spring season, the following games and events will take place on Saturday, March 26, beginning yet another journey of success for athletes of Highland County: 

BASEBALL 

• Hillsboro vs. Batavia and Fairfield-Union (tri-doubleheader), 10 a.m. 

• McClain at Lynchburg-Clay (doubleheader), 11 a.m.  

• Fairfield vs. Blanchester (doubleheader), 11 a.m.

• Whiteoak at South Webster (doubleheader), noon 

 

SOFTBALL 

• McClain at Lynchburg-Clay (doubleheader), 11 a.m. 

• Fairfield vs. Adena (doubleheader), 11 a.m. 


TRACK & FIELD 

• Fairfield at Fairweather Relays (Chillicothe H.S.), 10 a.m.
