Shania Massie named Division III Coaches District 14 POY

McClain senior Shania Massie headlines a list of nine Highland County girls basketball players selected to the Coaches District 14 All-District teams for Divisions II-IV.

Massie was selected as the Division III District 14 Player of the Year through a vote from coaches in the district. Massie was also a first-team selection.

For the year thus far (24 games), Massie, a 5-8 guard, is averaging 17.8 points per game, with 5.6 rebounds per game, 3.7 steals per game and 2.6 assists per game for the 2014-15 season.

This is the second consecutive season Massie has been selected as the Division III District 14 POY. Massie will also play in the Division III & IV North/South All-Star Game.

Also from Highland County, named to the first-team in Division II was Hillsboro senior Kaylynn Bell, while teammate Madison Snyder (a junior) was a second-team selection and Hannah Kibler (a senior) was named honorable mention.

Bell is an alternate for the Division I & II North/South All-Star game.

In Division III, Lynchburg-Clay sophomore Hannah Binkley was named to the coaches second-team, and selected as an honorable mention were LC junior Ali Little and MHS sophomore Taylor Polley.

For Division IV, Fairfield senior Kaitlin Evans was selected to the second-team, and freshman teammate Grace Shope was named honorable mention.

The Division II POY was Unioto senior Alexis Overly, and in Division IV, the POY was Kacie Hall of South Webster.

The Division II Coach of the Year was Jeff Miller of UHS, while the Division III COY was Dusty Spradlin of Wheelersburg. South Webster's Kristie Johnson was the Division IV COY.
