Whiteoak boys golf defeats Lynchburg-Clay, Fairfield
The Whiteoak Wildcats boys golf team defeated the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs and Fairfield Lions in a recent golf match on Aug. 17 at White Oak Golf Course.
WHS won with a score of 180, followed by Lynchburg-Clay at 183 and Fairfield with a score of 200.
The co-medalist for the match was Eric McLaughlin of LC and Zach Harless of Whiteoak with scores of 42.
For the FHS Lions, their team scores included: Ryland Donley (44), Wyatt Willey (49), Brandon Vidourek (56), Bryson Simmons (51), Justin Sowders (61) and Posey (64).

Lady Mustangs soccer opens season 1-1
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs went 1-1 in their first two soccer matches of the 2017 season. On Saturday, Aug. 19, they were shut out in their season opener to a non-conference opponent — the Western Brown Lady Broncos — by a 2-0 score at LCHS.
On Monday, Aug. 21, the Lady Mustangs rebounded with a 4-1 win over visiting Xenia in non-conference play. Stats for the match were not provided.

Lady Indians soccer falls to Unioto
The Hillsboro Lady Indians lost a road match on Tuesday night, falling to the Unioto Lady Shermans by a 2-0 score. Unioto’s Jayla Campbell scored two goals in their home win over the Lady Indians.
With the loss, the Lady Indians fall to 0-1-1 overall.

Lady Tigers lose to Eastern Pike in non-conference volleyball match
The McClain Lady Tigers dropped a non-conference volleyball match on Tuesday night to Eastern Pike at 3-1.
Scores in the loss for MHS included: 23-25 in favor of EPHS, followed by a McClain set win at 25-19. The next two sets went to EPHS by scores of 19-25 and 12-25.
MHS has a tri-match on Wednesday night as they will take on Southeastern and Portsmouth-Clay at SEHS.

Lynchburg-Clay volleyball wins weekend tri-match
Lynchburg-Clay’s volleyball team opened the 2017 season on Saturday, Aug. 19 by defeating the Georgetown Lady G-Men and the Manchester Lady Greyhounds in non-conference play.
Results for Tuesday’s home match vs. Ripley were not sent at time of the posted article.
