The Fairfield Lions used seven hits to produce two runs, and that was more than enough to earn another Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory on the season, winning Tuesday by a 2-0 score over Fayetteville.

The host Rockets team did total six hits, but the Lions' pitching kept them from crossing home plate.

[[In-content Ad]]FHS senior Joey Wilson was the winning pitcher, allowing no runs on six hits and no walks in seven innings on the mound for the complete game. Wilson struck out nine of the 27 batters he faced.

At the plate for the Lions, Ryan Bates led the way, going 2-for-3.

The Lions (6-2, 9-5) scored one run in the top of the second and one in the third.

Wyatt Crothers had one hit and one run, and scoring the other FHS run was Zach Cox, who also had one of the seven Lion hits.

Also with one hit each were Mitchell Rose, Wilson and Gage Montgomery. Earning the RBIs for FHS were Quintin Schaffer and Isaiah Liggins.

The Lions committed two errors in the field, while Fayetteville had three.
