Friday night saw the Fairfield Lions drop a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game, on the road, to the first-place and state-ranked Peebles Indians.
The Lions lost by a 86-44 score at PHS, falling to 8-11 overall this season, with three regular-season games left on the schedule.
For FHS, they were outscored 49-19 in the first half, and in the final two quarters, FHS scored 25 points, while the Indians totaled 37 points.
[[In-content Ad]]"I was disappointed in our defensive effort," FHS head coach Everett Snyder said. "We had difficulties with the defensive pressure of Peebles."
Fairfield was led by Ethan Putnam with 14 points, including two 3-pointers. Wyatt Evans finished with 10 points.
Dustin Willey followed with nine points, including one 3-pointer. Others to score for the Lions were Jensen Daulton with three points, followed by Klay Walker, Brant Huff and Wyatt Evans with two points each.
Beau Justice led the Indians with 51 points.
