Lions rally to defeat Wildcats for season split

The Fairfield Lions gained a win over the Whiteoak Wildcats on Friday, defeating their Highland County rival Fairfield, 3-2.
Both teams gained a regular-season win against each other this year.
After three innings, the Wildcats led the Lions, 2-0 with Chase Carraher scoring a run in the first inning and Zack Taggett in the third. Kyle Marler had an RBI in the first off a single, and Carraher batted in Taggett in the third.
The Lions came back in the fifth for three runs, eventually sealing the win.
Hurless singled to begin the top of the fifth for the Lions, and with one out, Mason Cain took first on an infield error. Randy Lamme also went to first on an error in the inning.

Cody Gragg walked, and Klay Walker doubled in two runs. FHS runs were scored by Cain, Lamme and Hurless.
Hunter Dixon was the winning pitcher for the Lions. The freshman went all seven innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and one walk. He struck out nine in the win.
Trevor Martin pitched 4.1 innings for the Wildcats, allowing three runs (nine earned) on two hits and three walks. He finished with six strikeouts. Jacob Burns pitched 2.2 innings of relief, with two hits and two strikeouts.
Of the four hits the Lions totaled, two were from Walker at 2-for-3 with two RBIs. WHS was led by Carraher at 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
