The Fairfield Lions scored in all but one inning on Thursday, defeating the Manchester Greyhounds, 10-0 at MHS for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.
FHS improves to 9-12 overall and 5-6 in the SHAC.
The Lions scored one run in the first inning and one in the third. They followed that with two runs in each of the final four innings to complete their 10 runs scored.
[[In-content Ad]]FHS totaled 11 hits with Wyatt Crothers, Isaiah Liggins and Blake Hildebrant each earning two hits.
Joey Wilson, Brayden Corzatt and Hildebrant each had two RBIs. Liggins, Zach Cox, Cody Bennett, Wilson and Dylan Rohde each had one RBI. Corzatt also had an unassisted double play.
Liggins and Wilson had extra base hits for the Lions, both hitting doubles.
Crothers and Wilson scored two runs, while Corzatt, Liggins, Cox, Quintin Schaffer, Bennett and Hildebrant scored one run a piece.
The visiting Lions also forced five walks as Corzatt, Crothers, Liggins, Cox and Bennett forced one a piece. Crothers was also hit by a pitch. Corzatt, Crothers and Bennett had a stolen base.
Earning the win was Liggins, who pitched all seven innings for the complete game shutout. Liggins allowed no runs on two hits, two walks and one strikeout. Both hits were singles as he faced 24 batters, holding the opponent to a .091 batting average and .167 on-base percentage.
In previous games, the Lions fell to Blanchester 12-2 in non-conference play. In the game before, FHS fell to the Eastern Brown Warriors, 10-9 in a SHAC game.
FHS will face Fayetteville in a makeup conference game on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Fayetteville.
