Lions JV suffers first defeat of the season

The Fairfield Lions JV baseball team suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of North Adams on Friday night, 21-7.
Logan Rohde, Nathan Vidourek and Logan Woods all pitched well on the mound, but Rohde took the loss. Rohde pitched two innings, striking out two batters and walking two batters. Rohde allowed 10 runs on four hits, but only three of the runs were earned.
"Our pitchers did exactly what we ask them to do every time out and that is pitch to contact, for the first time this season our defense just did not back them up,” FHS JV coach Jason Fox said.
The JV Lions were led at the plate by Vidourek with three hits, two runs and two RBI.
Jeffrey Spears, Conner Priest and Cody Everhart all collected two hits each.
"We have improved at the plate every game this season, but were just unable to come up with the timely hits, leaving the bases loaded twice tonight,” Fox said.
The JV team will end their season this week when they travel to West Union on Thursday.
