Lions fall 6-4 to North Adams

The Fairfield Lions fell to the North Adams Green Devils, 6-4 Tuesday at NAHS.

Trey Meade earned the win for North Adams. He allowed three runs over 6.2 innings. He struck out 11, walked none and surrendered six hits.

North Adams was sparked by Sheeley and Copas, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.

Hunter Dixon of FHS was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs (four earned) in 4.2 innings, walked four and struck out six. He threw 80 pitches.

Cody Gragg controlled the Green Devils, allowing just one hit and no earned runs. He walked none and struck out one during his 1.3 innings of relief, consisting of 30 pitches.

The Lions led in the top of the first inning with a hit from Klay Walker, followed by a Dixon double to score Walker.

FHS tacked on more runs when Dixon scored on an RBI single by Jacob Bowman.

The game was never in doubt after the fifth, as North Adams scored five runs on an error and three singles.

Two Lions runs crossed the plate in the top half of the seventh, making the score 6-4. An error gave Fairfield life, but North Adams closed the game out with a strikeout.

Fairfield finished with seven total hits, with Lamme totaling two hits on a 2-for-4 game with one run. The Lions struck out 12 times in the loss.
