Lions boys cross-country wins at McClain

McClain High School hosted the McClain Opener cross-country invitational Wednesday night.
Winning the boys high school race was Noah Richmond of Fairfield with a time of 16:46.44.
Fairfield also won the overall boys meet with a low score of 19 points, followed by Miami Trace in second with 68 points and Hillsboro in third with 98 points. Chillicothe finished fourth with 123 points, followed by Whiteoak in fifth (131 points) and Washington in sixth (142 points). The host Tigers did not field a full team.
Fairfield runners finished in six of the top seven spots in the boys event. In the girls high school event, Chillicothe was the top school with 24 points, followed by Fairfield in second at 55 and Whiteoak in third with 87 points. Washington (90 points) and Miami Trace (200 points) rounded out the team scoring, as neither Hillsboro nor McClain fielded a full team.
Washington’s Maddy Garrison won the event with a time of 19:39.7.

In the middle school races, Fairfield’s Cohen Frost won the boys event with a time of 11:32.7. The Lions won the event with 29 points, with eight of the top 13 finishers. Chillicothe finished second with 93 points, followed by Miami Trace in third (115 points) and Whiteoak in fourth (121 points). Hillsboro and Greenfield did not field full teams.
Whiteoak’s Raelynn Ruble won the girls middle school event with a time of 12:58.8. Fairfield also won the girls event with 33 points, followed by Whiteoak in second with 58 points and Washington in third with 74 points. Greenfield, Hillsboro, Chillicothe and Miami Trace did not field full teams for the girls event.
