Lions 2nd at Panther Invitational at Pickerington North

Facing Division II and Division III competition on Saturday morning, the state-ranked Fairfield Lions cross-country team defeated all but one school in their second-place finish at the Panther Invitational at Pickerington North High School.
The Lions were just four points away from first place, finishing in second with 95 points. The winner of the invitational was Heath, a Division II school, with 91 points.
Individually for the Lions, junior Noah Richmond placed fifth overall with a time of 16:51.11. Next for the Lions was junior Matthew Mangus in 15th place at 17:12.53.

Senior Wyatt Evans was 21st for FHS at 17:25.21, while sophomore Brandtson Duffie placed 27th (17:39.76) and in 29th was sophomore Bennett Hodson (17:43.47), giving the Lions five runners in the Top 30.
In 32nd place was sophomore Austin Setty at 17:48.54. He was followed by senior Trent Swisher in 35th place (17:55.62), freshman Ethan Davis in 43rd (18:03.09) and in 49th place was junior Andrew Davis (18:17.21).
Also for the Lions, junior Nick Price was 86th at 18:53.57, followed by freshman Tristan Victor (21:03.94), freshman Gavin Campbell (21:46.35), freshman Trey Wilkerson (22:33.44), freshman Derek Cooper (25:35.75) and sophomore Riley Friend (28:14.36).
In the girls race, the Lady Lions placed 14th overall. They were led by freshman Ciara Colwell in 21st place at 21:07.98.
Other times for the Lady Lions were: Megan Gragg (22:38.74), freshman Chloe Barber (23:14.32), Alexis Swisher (23:37.38), Hayleigh Lowe (25:00.00), Meadow Cunningham (26:53.62), Sarah Wuellner (27:28.69), Sarah Young (28:06.22), Ailean Duffie (28:22.76) and Haleigh Bates (31:35.58).
