Larrick, Perie named first-team All-Ohio

The 2012 high school softball season was capped off for Highland County this week when two senior players were named first-team All-Ohio by the Ohio High School Fast Pitch Softball Coaches Association.
Named to the team were McClain senior catcher Jenna Perie in Division II and Fairfield pitcher Lauren Larrick in Division IV.
This season, Perie was a part of a South Central Ohio League (12-0) championship team for the Lady Tigers as they reached the district semifinals. Perie batted .529 with 30 RBIs and 11 doubles this season.
Also during her senior year, she had 96 plate appearances where she struck out just once while hitting two home runs.
"Jenna possesses qualities that you can't teach," McClain softball head coach Jarrod Haines said. "Her leadership and work ethic are true definitions of her personality, and behind the plate, she helped make our pitchers better.
"Jenna has a record-setting year for us, and she's the type of player that every coach wants on their team. I was blessed to have her for four years, and she is definitely deserving of this award."

Perie was also a member of the All-SCOL and All-District teams this season.
As for Larrick, who was also a member of the All-Southern Hills League and All-District teams, this season she pitched a perfect game against Manchester (a 6-0 win which clinched the SHL Division II title) and a no-hitter at Whiteoak in a 4-0 win against the Lady 'Cats.
At times this season, Larrick's performances in pitching were described as "fantastic" by the FHS coaching staff.
Larrick, who was 18-8 this season, finished her high school career with nearly every pitching record in Fairfield High School history, including ending her high school career with 58 wins (26 shutouts), one perfect game, four no-hitters and six one-hitters.
She has a career ERA of 1.45 with 672 career strikeouts.
In tournament games, Larrick totaled a 9-3-1 record in four years, including seven shutouts.
She was a part of three SHL Division II championship teams, four sectional championship teams, two district runner-up teams, one district championship team and one regional runner-up team her junior season.
