Lady Tigers golf wins 11th match of season; top Fairfield and Jackson

The McClain Lady Tigers Golf team improved to 11-3 and 4-2 in the Frontier Athletic Conference Monday, by defeating the Jackson Ironladies and non-league Fairfield in a tri-match.

McClain shot 208 in the win, followed by Jackson at 226 and Fairfield with a score of 235.

McClain was led by freshman Bri Weller, who shot a career-best 48, followed by Bryn Karnes with a score of 49.

In their final home match, seniors Kendall Pollard shot a 54 and Elissa Grate fired a 57 during the MHS win.

It was the last home match at the Buckeye Hills Country Club for seniors Pollard, Grate, Morgan Faulconer and Patricia Poole.

As for the Lady Lions, their scores included: Rachel Schuler (48), Caitlyn Melson (58), Alexis Tompkins (63), Mia Keeton (66) and Abby Davis (70).

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to travel to Hillsboro on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to face the Lady Indians at the Hillsboro Elks.
