Lady Lions throttle Jefferson Township

One night following a close loss at home, the Fairfield Lady Lions shook the loss off and went to the road for a win against Dayton Jefferson Township.

Fairfield (3-8, 7-12) dominated the non-conference game with a final score of 66-13 Tuesday evening.

Not only did FHS have two players who totaled more points than their opponents, but FHS scored more points in the first quarter than their opponent did in the entire game.

The Lady Lions opened the game with an 18-0 first quarter, following that effort with an 11-2 second frame for a halftime lead of 29-2.

In the first half, FHS had eight players reach the scoring column, including both Grace Shope and Kaitlin Evans. For the game, each player led the Lady Lions with 19 points. Evans sank three 3-pointers in the win, while Shope made nine two-point baskets.

As for the second half, FHS scored 21 points in the third and 16 more in the fourth, while Jefferson Twp. scored 11 points in the second half.


[[In-content Ad]]For the Lady Lions, Abby Newkirk scored six points, while Emily Teeters and Haley Bobb each scored five points. Teeters scored a two-point basket in the second quarter and three points in the fourth.

Blake Adams totaled four points in the win, as did Justice Hattan. Also for FHS, Carly Arnold and Olivia Bobb each scored two points.

Leading Jefferson Township was Jordan Harris with five points.
