Lady Lions earn non-conference victory against South Webster

Saturday afternoon saw the Fairfield Lady Lions earn a non-conference varsity victory against the South Webster Lady Jeeps by a 58-51 score at Grandle Gymnasium.

Fairfield (2-1) led by an 18-11 score in the first quarter, followed by a 12-10 second frame for a 30-21 lead at halftime against the visiting Lady Jeeps. The third frame was a little different for Fairfield as they were outscored 21-19, leaving the score 49-42 with the Lady Lions in the lead.

In the final frame, FHS was doubled up at 18-9, but Fairfield held on for the victory.

In the game, the Lady Lions were led by Madison Bronner with 19 points, followed by Ella Newkirk and Emma Fouch with 11 points each, as Fouch sank three 3-pointers in the win.

Also for the Lady Lions in the scoring column were Braylynn Haines with eight points, Peyton Magee with seven points and Hailey Tolle with two points.

The win leaves Fairfield with an overall record of 2-1. The next game for FHS is Monday, Dec. 2 at home vs. the West Union Lady Dragons in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play.
