Lady Lions earn 2nd win of season Saturday

Ten players from the Fairfield Lady Lions contributed to the scoring of their second win of the season, Saturday, as FHS won on their home court for the first time this season.
 
For FHS (0-1, 2-1), they scored in double figures in each of the four quarters played against the visiting Paint Valley Lady Bearcats, and once it was all said and done, they had built a convincing victory, defeating the Lady 'Cats, 60-39 at Grandle Gymnasium.
 
The Lady Lions led the first quarter by an 18-7 score and continued to do about the same in the second, with a 13-7 second frame, giving them a halftime advantage of 31-14.
 
In the third, FHS added 16 more points to their total, while PV reached 13 points in the quarter. The fourth frame saw FHS and PV each score 12 points.
 
Fairfield was led in scoring by Grace Shope with 19 points, with all of those points coming in the first three quarters. She scored 13 points in the first half.
 

[[In-content Ad]]Kaitlin Evans followed with 16 points, as she scored eight points in each half, including a 3-pointer in the third quarter. Evans added four assists and four steals.
 
Justice Hattan added seven points for FHS, while Blake Adams, Haley Bobb and Lydia Sowders each scored four points. Also for the Lady Lions, Olivia Bobb and Katie Runyon each had two points, while Abby Newkirk and Carly Arnold each had one point.
 
Sowders led FHS in rebounding with six, followed by Hattan with five.
 
For the game, the Lady Lions were 13-of-31 from the free-throw line, and PV went 1-of-10.
 
PV was led in scoring by Lexi Woods with 15 points.
