Lady Lions defeat Horizon Science

The Fairfield Lady Lions gained a road win Saturday afternoon by defeating Horizon Science, 60-18 in a non-conference game.

The Lady Lions were led by Heather Cox with a game-high 18 points, followed by Shelby Smithson with 12 points.

Cox earned a double-double by adding 12 rebounds to her totals.

Haley Bobb finished the game as the third FHS player in double figures with 11 points (six rebounds). Bobb made three 3-pointers in the game.

Kaitlin Evans totaled six points (eight assists), as did Justice Hattan. Also scoring points for the Lady Lions were Lydia Sowders with four points (six rebounds) and Katie Runyon, who finished with two points.

FHS finished 5-of-7 from the free-throw line, and Horizon Science went 5-of-11.

The Lady Lions' game scheduled for Monday at Manchester has been rescheduled for Jan. 14, 2014.
