Kiley Sosby named Div. IV SE District Player of the Year

The Southeast District released their 2014 All-Southeast District teams Tuesday (June 10), with 16 Highland County softball players making the list in three divisions.
Whiteoak junior pitcher Kiley Sosby took home top honors as she was selected as the Division IV SE District Player of the Year and first-team All-District. This was the second consecutive year Sosby earned this honor.
This season, Sosby pitched in 23 games this season, finishing with a 15-8 record. In her 153.2 innings in the circle, she had an ERA of 0.82 with 311 strikeouts.
Sosby walked just five of the 586 batters she faced. She held her opponents to a batting average of .126.

Second-team honors went to HHS sophomore Kerstin Thornburgh (Div. II), McClain seniors Caitlyn Lovett and Katy Unger in Div. III and Lynchburg-Clay junior Madysyn Creighton, also in DIvision III. In Division IV, named to their second-team were Fairfield juniors Arica Melson and Kaitlin Evans.
Honorable mention honors were awarded to: Hillsboro sophomore Madison Snyder (Div. II), Lynchburg-Clay freshmen Hannah Binkley and Hayley McConnaughey (Div. III), McClain junior Sarah Thompson (Div. III) and MHS senior Allison Willett (Div. III). Honorable mention in Div. IV was Whiteoak junior Jayde Parr.
