Jacob Bowman drives in game-winning run in Fairfield win

A single to left field by Jacob Bowman and strong pitching from Hunter Dixon put the Fairfield Lions in the winner's column on Tuesday, with the Lions defeating the Manchester Greyhounds, 3-2.
The game-winning single came off the bat of Bowman and sailed to deep left field to score Randy Lamme, sealing the Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.
Lamme finished the game 3-for-3, scoring two of the three Fairfield runs. Scoring the other run for the Lions was Cody Gragg who was 1-for-2 at the plate.
For the game the Lions totaled six hits and four walks.

Lamme got things going for the Lions with a single. Gragg followed with a base hit of his own, moving Lamme from first-to-third, who eventually scored the first run of the game. Gragg scored on a sacrifice fly by Klay Walker.
In the top of the third, Manchester was able to get a run across the plate with a steal of home by DeAtley. They tied the game up at 2-2 on a steal attempt in the top of the fifth by Young and score on an error by Beatty at third.
Then came the game-winning inning for FHS, beginning with Lamme laying down a bunt single. Manchester intentionally walked Walker and Dixon to load the bases for a force out.
Bowman came to the plate and on the first pitch hit a game-winning single to deep left field to drive in Lamme for the winning run.
On the mound for the Lions, Dixon pitched five innings of the scheduled five inning game. He allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and four walks. Dixon threw a total of 71 pitches.
