Indians win Zane Trace Invitational

The Hillsboro Indians boys track & field team were the winners of the 2015 Zane Trace Invitational this past week at ZTHS.

HHS led all teams with 93 points, followed by Zane Trace as the runner-up with 83.50 points.

Also in the event were the Fairfield Lions in 12th with eight points.

In the girls events, the Lady Indians were sixth with 55 points, and FHS was 11th, finishing with nine points. ZTHS won the girls event with 142 points.

Hillsboro's Mackenzie Conlon won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.50, being the lone HHS boys winner of an single event.

In the girls meet, Hillsboro's Allison Goolsby was first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.49.

Also with a first-place finish for the Lady Indians was Alyssa Sullivan in the shot put with a toss of 31-03.00.

The Indians did have six second-place finishes:

• 4x800m relay (Noah Kunce, Zach Middleton, Chase Vance, De-Andre Steward), 8:58.56;

• 4x200m relay (Gabriel Tamborski, Conlon, Luke Gallimore, Braden Wildey), 1:36.22;

• 1600m run, De-Andre Steward, 4:46.28;

• 400m dash, Gabriel Tamborski, 54.50;

• 4x400m relay (Tamborski, Wildey, Gallimore, Conlon), 3:44.47;

• High jump, Jeremy Hayton, 6-00.00.
