Indians 2nd, Lions 3rd at Ohio Classic

The annual Ohio Classic took place on Saturday morning at Hillsboro's Liberty Park, where the Hillsboro Indians placed second overall and the Fairfield boys came in third place out of 18 total teams.

In the Ohio Classic, the race saw Hillsboro senior De-Andre Steward place second overall with a time of 18:11, for a mile pace of 5:52. In third was Hillsboro senior Trey Moberly at 18:14 with a mile pace of 5:53.

Fourth place saw Fairfield sophomore Wyatt Evans finish with a time of 18:23.

Winning the Ohio Classic was Teays Valley junior Steven Adams with a time of 18:00. Teays Valley also won the team championship with 70 points. HHS scored 75 points, and FHS had 77 points.

There were a total of 170 runners in the event.

Also in the Top 10 from Highland County was FHS freshman Matthew Mangus with a time of 18:47 for a ninth-place finish.

Other Top 25 for HHS were 21, Mackenzie Conlon (19:53); 24, Gabriel Tamborski (20:05); and 25, Chase Vance (20:07).

Also running for HHS were Justin Scott (22:38); Steven Burton (23:05); and Fred Green (30:20).

HHS had an average time of 19:22.

For FHS, other Top 25 times included: 13, Trent Swisher (19:17); and 17, Noah Richmond (19:32).

Also running for FHS were Nick Price (20:51); Dustin Willey (20:52); Dillon Burley (21:01); Tucker Ayres, (21:29); Matthew Leach (22:35); Andrew Davis (22:58); Mason Cain, (23:18); and Lane Frost (23:23).

All FHS runners placed in the Top 100.

The McClain Tigers also ran in the Ohio Classic, having the following finishes: Austin Pollock (23:50), Jacob Roeder (26:18), Adrian Weller (33:45) and Brandon Adams (39:47).
