FMS boys cross-country team wins at Unioto

The Fairfield Middle School boys finished in first at the Unioto Invitational out of 18 schools, defeating host, Unioto, 40-53, Saturday.

Leading the way, and finishing first place overall in a field of 137 runners, was Brandtson Duffie with a time of 11:00.

Finishing second overall and for the team was teammate Austin Setty with a time of 11:10.

Sam Buddelmeyer was 10th at 11:52 and Bennett Hodson was 12th at 12:00. Also for FMS, Zane Adams was 20th at 12:10, Gavin Campbell was 27th at 12:31 and Ethan Davis was 44th with a time of 13:08.

The Fairfield Middle School girls finished sixth out of 11 schools.

Running for Fairfield were: Alexis Swisher 27th at 14:36, Megan Gragg 31st at 14:47, Ailean Duffie 39th at 15:27, Racheal Schuler 44th at 15:44, Meadow Cunningham 92nd at 18:20 and Hailey Daniels was 108th at 22:04.

The middle school and high school boys and girls cross-country teams will compete for the SHAC championship on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Ripley High School.
