FHS JV baseball wins Ripley Invitational

The Fairfield Lions JV baseball teams recently won the Ripley Invitational, last Saturday.

Fairfield defeated Manchester, 20-2 in game one.

Offensively, Blake Hildebrant was 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Cody Bennett also went 4-for-4, with five RBIs.

Gage Montgomery was 3-for-4, collecting three RBIs. Ryan Bates finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Also for the JV Lions, Quentin Schaffer went 2-for-4, with one RBI.

Fairfield had 19 hits in the game, while receiving quality pitching performances from Joey Wilson (two innings, six strikeouts), and Wyatt Crothers (three innings, three strikeouts).

In game two, the Fairfield Lions defeated Ripley, 11-0.

Offensively, Wilson was 2-for-3, with one RBI. Dylan Rhode finished 2-for-2, with two RBIs. Wyatt Crothers went 1-for-1, two RBIs, and Garret Schuler was 1-for-2, with one RBI.

Wilson pitched a complete game shutout, going five innings, with five strikeouts, while allowing two hits and no runs.

With the win, FHS JV improves to 5-0 on the season. This season, Fairfield has outscored their opponents, 58-7.[[In-content Ad]]
